Adoption & Refund Policies.

Welcoming a Dachshund into your family is an exciting and meaningful decision. We believe every step should be clear, from reserving your chosen puppy to understanding health concerns and long-term responsibilities.

01. Reservations & Deposits

Choosing a puppy is an important decision, and we want families to understand the available reservation and visit options before making a commitment.

$400

Puppy Reservation Deposit

A fully refundable deposit reserves your selected Dachshund puppy and is applied toward the total puppy fee. If you meet the puppy and decide they are not the right fit, the deposit is refundable.

$250

Visit Commitment Deposit

A fully refundable deposit secures an in-person puppy visit, arranged at least 24 hours in advance. If you proceed, this amount counts toward the puppy’s total fee.

Important Reservation Information

Deposits are not additional charges on top of the agreed puppy fee when applied to a completed adoption. Refund instructions and processing arrangements should be confirmed in writing before payment.

02. Health-Related Concerns

Your puppy’s wellbeing matters. If a licensed veterinarian identifies a serious health concern after your Dachshund joins your family, contact us promptly and provide the relevant veterinary records.

Eligibility for a refund, replacement puppy, or another remedy depends on the terms of the signed health agreement, the diagnosis, and any applicable consumer protection requirements. We encourage families to review these provisions carefully before adoption.

You can also review our Puppy Health Commitment for more information.

03. Changes After Adoption

Bringing home a Dachshund is a long-term responsibility. Before proceeding, we encourage you to consider your family’s schedule, housing arrangements, available time, financial preparedness, and the ongoing needs of a growing puppy.

If your circumstances change after your puppy has joined your household, please contact us to discuss the situation. Any return or refund will be assessed according to the adoption agreement and applicable legal requirements, rather than assuming an automatic refund.

04. Rehoming & Responsible Care

Sometimes unexpected circumstances make it difficult for a family to continue caring for their Dachshund. If this happens, we encourage you to reach out before making permanent rehoming arrangements.

A safe and thoughtful transition should prioritize the dog’s wellbeing, appropriate living conditions, and a responsible new home. Any return, rehoming assistance, or related financial terms must be agreed upon separately.

Before You Reserve a Puppy

Please review the reservation terms, visit arrangements, health coverage, and adoption agreement before making a payment. This page provides an overview of the proposed policies. Specific refund rights, remedies, and responsibilities should be confirmed in the final written agreement and remain subject to applicable law.
